ORVALDI – a brand of electronic devices, and for over 30 years, its main products have been emergency power protection devices, such as UPSs, inverters, and generators.

 

The first ORVALDI analog electronic devices were developed in the 1970s, including electroacoustic amplifiers and power supplies, and in 1980, an analog-digital device was introduced, such as an analog tape recorder with digital control.

 

In the 1980s, the company “ORVALDI electronic”, under the ORVALDI brand, designed interfaces and converters for transmitting digital data over long distances for the first wide-area computer networks.

 

At that time, ORVALDI’s flagship product was the intelligent EPROM memory programmer.

 

“ORVALDI electronic” designed and manufactured the ORVALDI STC network card for the National Academic Computer Network.

 

In the early 1990s, under the ORVALDI brand, PC computers were manufactured.

 

Around 1993–1995, devices for protecting computer power supplies were developed, marking the beginning of the first UPS systems under the ORVALDI brand.

 

Since 1995, the ORVALDI brand’s flagship products have been UPSs, and later other power protection devices, such as solar inverters, generators, and energy storage systems.

 

The first UPS models were based on ferroresonant technology and were developed in the U.S.

 

FERRUPS models were characterized by reliability, overload resistance, and compliance with the requirements of pure on-line technology.

 

UPS power ranged from 700 VA to 18 kVA, and with a UBS (Uninterruptible Battery System), they could provide unlimited backup time. Some of these UPS-UBS systems are still in operation today.

• FORTRESS – single-conversion on-line series

• PATRIOT – off-line series

 

The turn of the 2000s saw the rapid development of the power protection industry due to the Millennium Crisis.

 

ORVALDI equipped many banks and critical institutions with its UPS GenSet systems for power protection during the Millennium period.

 

Since the 2000s, market development has brought increased demand, higher competition, lower prices, and as a result, production from the U.S. was moved to Asia and other regions, while generators are manufactured in the UK and the EU.

 

The development of the internet shifted sales to online channels and remote sales.

ORVALDI devices are developed by an international R&D department for industrial and professional applications.

Around 50 years of engineering experience in device design guarantees the quality and reliability of ORVALDI power supply system projects.

 

Some prototypes are mass-produced and available through an extensive sales partner network in international markets, primarily in Europe, the USA, and Central and South America.

 

The current ORVALDI offering includes a complete range of UPSs in all technologies (off-line, line-interactive, on-line double- and triple-conversion) from 400 VA up to 2,000 kVA (parallel systems), and for all markets in 220/230/240 V and 100/110/120 V, 50/60 Hz standards.
